Great Alternatives

In my ongoing battle against pay TV I’ve been doing a lot of research that Id like to share with you. Digital TV antennas aren’t the old rabbit ears you grew up with as a kid in the past. There are quite a few new things you may not know about the newest digital TV antennas which provide great alternatives.

One of the first and most surprising things is that broadcast signals are actually higher quality than cable or satellite signals. You’ll even find the sound quality to be better. Broadcasts are also free from any signal compression’s used by cable and satellite giving you true high definition television quality. In short an antenna gives you a higher quality transmission. The downside is that it’s still susceptible to weather conditions.

Of course it’s a small price to pay in exchange for no price to pay. Once the antenna is installed there are no other monthly bills. Everything else is Free! Your local news, sitcoms, weather, cooking shows, kid’s shows, sports and a huge selection of movies are all free once your antenna is installed.

Each channel may be sending extra signals out on additional sub channels unlike traditional cable or satellite. If a channel broadcasts of channel 12 for instance there could be an additional 3 sub channels such as 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3. Some might contain the same programming in different languages, or have different programming all together.

Now you may not want this to be your only choice there quite a few mix and match options to take advantage of. Unlike your grandparents you’ll have more then three channels to choose from right from the beginning. Try installing that antenna and subscribing to Netflix, Hulu or Apple TV just to name a few. You will be surprised when you realize you’re not missing much other then that huge cable bill every month.
